The Feedback Forum tool at the bottom of the page remains open throughout the duration of the project. The community's feedback is important to us, and will be incorporated into the final Official Plan policies.

Big questions: Living in Milton

We Make Milton is moving forward with Council-endorsed policy directions for the Living in Milton theme – which includes topics that impact the everyday life of residents and address important community issues. These topics are affordability and housing choice, climate change and resiliency, history and cultural heritage, parks and recreation, places of worship, rural living, urban design, and youth.

Thank you to all those who shared their feedback on these Living in Milton policy topics. For details about the Living in Milton policy topics, read the Introduction report, Background and Information report and Big Questions report in the document library or watch the explanatory video series.

In 2021, Milton Council endorsed a modern, forward-looking land-use vision for the new Official Plan that reflects our diverse, young and innovative community. All policy considerations for this project were developed to reflect, and align with, the vision: ‘Milton 2051: Choice Shapes Us. In 2051, Milton offers a diversity of options for how and where we live, work, move and grow. As we evolve, choice is what shapes us.’

Next steps

Engagement opportunities for the remaining We Make Milton policy themes (Growing in Milton, Moving in Milton, and Working in Milton) will take place later this year.

Meet the Miltons

Watch this video to meet the Miltons and their friends. They are proud and active members of our community that live around Milton and have different local interests. They are getting involved in the new Official Plan project, a policy initiative that will manage Milton's growth for the next 20 years. Through the We Make Milton engagement process, the new Official Plan's modern land-use vision and framework will be crafted locally, in partnership with the community.
