Project milestone – Official Plan coming to Council

At its June 22 meeting, Council will consider approval of Milton’s new Official Plan – a milestone in a planning and engagement process that began in 2019.

The staff report for this meeting will be posted by June 19. After Council adoption, the Town of Milton Official Plan, 2026, will be submitted to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for approval.

When approved by the province and put into effect, the new Official Plan will guide land-use decisions and help manage growth so future development meets Milton’s needs.

The We Make Milton Official Plan Review was a multi-year review and update of the Town’s Official Plan. Public engagement at every stage helped ensure the plan reflects community needs.
