Traffic Calming - Clark Boulevard
The Town of Milton is potentially installing speed cushions along Clark Boulevard between Fourth Line and James Snow Parkway.
Over the last few years, a number of studies were undertaken to assess the need for traffic calming measures on Clark Boulevard. The results showed that additional measures warranted consideration.
As part of the Town’s Traffic Calming Policy, 51% of residents directly impacted by the traffic calming measure must be in support for the measure to be implemented. In this case, 51% of residents with direct residential frontage along Clark Boulevard between Fourth Line and James Snow Parkway must be in support.
How you can participate:
Residents living within the neighbourhood or on the affected road are encouraged to watch the virtual presentation of the proposed Clark Boulevard speed cushions.
After viewing the presentation, residents with direct frontage on Clark Boulevard are asked to complete the survey below indicating support or no support of the proposed speed cushions
Comments and survey responses will be accepted until May 30, 2025.

Share Is there any possibility of having signalized flashing lights at the pedestrian crossing at Clark and Lancaster? When the councillor Adil and I went door to door to get the petition signed for traffic calming we witnessed over a dozen cars drive through the crossing while a young mother with a stroller waited to cross. Adil is a police officer and said it was very bad. And this is just one example. This pedestrian crossing is also used by students dropped off by school buses on the north side of Clark at Watson Park to get to the south side of the road. One of the pedestrian crossing signs for the cars heading east is obstructed and not very visible for cars. The road mounted crossing sign on the centre line is also damaged on both sides. Pedestrians matter. Thanks. on Facebook Share Is there any possibility of having signalized flashing lights at the pedestrian crossing at Clark and Lancaster? Staff have a program to assess all Pedestrian Crossovers (PXO's) every 2 years to update the volume criteria to see if they are warranted for an upgrade. Staff are currently collecting this data and will assess if Clark Boulevard and Watson Terrace/Lancaster Boulevard is warranted for an upgrade to a Level 2 Type C PXO with Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons. If this PXO is warranted for an upgrade, this work will be completed in 2026.
If vehicles are not stopping for pedestrians, this is an enforcement issue and a Road Watch Form can be filled out with Halton Regional Police. I have provided a link below where this form can be filled out.
https://www.haltonpolice.ca/en/services-and-reporting/reporting.aspx
Staff will have the flexi sign in the middle of the road replaced with a new one as this was probably damaged from the winter months from all the snow removal with the snow plows.

Share When the Clark Blvd extension to the east of James Snow opens in 2026, the speeds on Clark between Beaty and James Snow will increase due to straight line speeds and racing to hit green lights. Will the post implementation study measure the speeds in this section of Clark between Beaty and Clark because no calming measures are being implemented in this section? Many cars will speed off James Snow Parkway and will not encounter westbound traffic calming until they pass Beaty, meaning no impact on westbound speeds until 300m or so into the subdivision. Great job. Thank you. on Facebook Share When the Clark Blvd extension to the east of James Snow opens in 2026, the speeds on Clark between Beaty and James Snow will increase due to straight line speeds and racing to hit green lights. When Clark Boulevard east of James Snow Parkway is open to the public, Beaty Trail can be assessed for traffic calming measures. Staff have volume and speed data for Beaty Trail from 2024 and if it is shown that traffic is using Beaty Trail as a way to avoid Clark Boulevard, staff can assess the need for traffic calming with residential support.
