Welcome to the Town's HRIS - Workday information hub! Thank you to all staff who filled out the survey. We're reviewing all of the survey responses and developing a rollout strategy.

What is HRIS - Workday?

We're modernizing our payroll and HR functions with the implementation of Workday, a Human Resources Information System (HRIS). It's a secure, modern, and cloud-based solution that will manage employee and payroll data. Workday is going to make the work day more efficient with automated, self-serve capabilities, like booking vacation days.

Workday will be rolled out over four phases. Please note that the timelines are estimated and may change as the project evolves.

  • Phase 1 (Q1 2023): Human capital management (HCM) and core compensation, benefits, absence, payroll, time tracking, expenses
  • Phase 2 (Q3 2023): Enhanced scheduling and advanced compensation
  • Phase 3 (Q1 2024): Recruitment and learning
  • Phase 4 (TBD): Performance management and succession planning

How is Workday going to impact me?

Workday is an HRIS solution that will impact all employees at the Town. Phase 1 will include changes to the way we process some common payroll and human resources tasks in the following ways:

  • Better people, payroll, and scheduling processes/workflow through automation and self-serve options for all employees
  • Reducing the need for manual, paper-based processes and increasing overall sustainability
  • Access on all devices, including a mobile-based app
  • Increasing overall staff satisfaction, motivation and engagement
  • Increasing internal efficiencies within the organization

In addition to the above individual impacts, the organization will benefit from:

  • Modern workforce reporting to support evidence-based decision making
  • Improved overall data integrity and security
  • Better management of employee and payroll data
  • Compliance with regulations, legislation and collective agreements
