Consultation has concluded

Sam Sherratt Trail leading to Coxe Boulevard Park

Thank you for your feedback!

We have formulated the Final Concept to achieve the following goals:

  1. Update park elements to meet current standards
  2. Improve the function of existing features, including accessibility
  3. Repair or replace aging park elements.

Based on operational and community feedback, it has been determined that upgrades to the existing trail and play structure will be the primary focus of the final concept. In addition to this the following will be added:

  • New native trees and shrubs for the host of benefits they provide to the community and the greater environment. Existing trees that are in good health will be protected and maintained.
  • A new play structure and swings with accessible features, including a ramp into the play space.
  • Seating areas, including seating with an overhead canopy.

The Final Concept is a version of Concept C, however armourstone seating has been added along the edge of the play space as per resident feedback. Further refinement of the design will occur through the detail design process.

Background:

Coulson Park is located at 754 Coulson Avenue. It is a small, quiet park situated along the Sam Sherratt Trail, one of Milton’s longest off-road trail systems. The park features an aging play structure with a sand base, bench seating, open space and trees, both mature and recently planted. This project may also consider portions of the Sam Sherratt Trail for improvements.
