Britannia Secondary Plan
Milton is undergoing a secondary plan program for the lands identified as the Britannia Secondary Plan. The Britannia Secondary Plan is a part of Milton’s next phase of growth and development (2021-31), located to the south and east of the Boyne Secondary Plan area.
Britannia is envisioned to be developed as a complete community where people can live, work, shop, and recreate. The vision focuses on creating complete, walkable neighbourhoods that provide a range and mix of uses, including a range of housing options and access to amenities and services. It’s being planned as a community area that will accommodate approximately 46,450 residents and 10,730 jobs.
Community engagement
A statutory public meeting under the Planning Act took place on July 18, 2022. At this public meeting, the draft Britannia Secondary Plan was presented for comment.
Thank you to stakeholders and community members for providing feedback on building a complete community in the Britannia Secondary Plan area. For detailed information on the preliminary land-use concepts, view the information package.

Complete Community
about 3 years agoCLOSED: Thank you for your feedback!Share your input about building a complete community in Milton's Britannia Secondary Plan area.
- What features and characteristics of a neighbourhood are most important to you and why?
- What types of housing would you like in your neighbourhood or think is needed in Milton? Should housing offerings support all the different stages of life? Where should housing be located?
- Where do kids in your community like to play (for exmaple, front yard, back yard, in the street, at a neighbourhood park, etc.)? What recreational and outdoor places make a community great?
- What type of shopping experience and access to services do you prefer? Where should shopping and services be located?
Catabout 3 years agoMore family-oriented condos
We need more condos for families (two floors, four bedrooms upstairs and living/kitchen/dining area downstairs) interspersed with lots of parks. Single family homes contribute to urban sprawl and should not be included in any of the new Milton Secondary plans.

It would be absolutely wonderful to have paths like mississauga does with the credit river, and if they can join other with parks, paths and other landscapes It would create a tremendous amount of job growth while preserving the beautiful landscape we have in this community. I Hope this reply is seriously taken. Like I and many others feel that Milton is missing out on something like this. Thank you.
0 comment1Sara Labout 3 years agoIncreased Transit Accessibility
Milton has historically had poor, borderline unusable transit that is frankly a disgrace for the size of city that it is and the city should be deeply ashamed of themselves for allowing a modern, developing city to be built without giving but a second thought to mobility and accessibility. It is frankly appalling that a city of over 100k people that has been built in the 21st century STILL prioritizes private automobiles and urban sprawl over transit oriented developments and more human-scale neighborhoods.

Dog parks in park space, preferably both large and small dog areas.
