Milton is undergoing a secondary plan program for the lands identified as the Britannia Secondary Plan. The Britannia Secondary Plan is a part of Milton’s next phase of growth and development, located to the south and east of the Boyne Secondary Plan area.

Britannia is envisioned to be developed as a complete community where people can live, work, shop, and play. The vision focuses on creating complete, walkable neighbourhoods that provide a range and mix of uses, including a range of housing options and access to amenities and services.

Community engagement

A statutory public meeting under the Planning Act took place on July 18, 2022. At this public meeting, the draft Britannia Secondary Plan was presented for comment.

Thank you to stakeholders and community members for providing feedback on building a complete community in the Britannia Secondary Plan area.

Since the statutory public meeting, the Town has been reviewing the draft Britannia Secondary Plan by taking into consideration all comments provided by the public and stakeholders.

Public Information Centres will be held on the following dates to present an updated preferred land-use concept:

    The Town of Milton welcomes residents to learn about the Britannia Secondary Plan that will establish a detailed land-use planning and policy framework to guide future development of this new community area.

    At this Public Information Centre (PIC) meeting, we will:

    • Present an updated preferred land-use concept based on comments received.
    • Discuss community elements such as housing, retail, parks, school, and roads.
    • Gather feedback to finalize and complete the Britannia Secondary Plan.
