The Agerton Secondary Plan represents the next phase of Milton’s growth and is located east of the Town’s existing Urban Area, separated by the Sixteen Mile Creek valley. A proposed Major Transit Station is identified in the Agerton Secondary Plan area near Derry and Trafalgar roads.

Agerton is being planned as a transit supportive corridor with mixed-use intensification. This is an opportunity for higher-density development and taller buildings that enhance the Town’s urban structure. The secondary plan will establish the detailed planning and policy framework needed to guide future development and support a complete community.

Status update

A statutory public meeting under the Planning Act was held in July 2022, where a draft plan was presented for comment. Since then, changes to provincial legislation and policy have affected the plan. The Town is reviewing and updating the draft to reflect these changes, along with feedback received since the 2022 meeting.

An updated Draft Secondary Plan will be available for public review in February-March 2026.

  • March 5, 2026: Open House to discuss the proposed Official Plan Amendment and speak with the Project Team.

Following this consultation, the Town will update the secondary plan and present a final version to Council for adoption. Once adopted, the plan will be submitted to the Province for approval.
