  - Create more sheltered bus stops as most are out in the open.

  - Have more frequent bus times.

  - Service to places outside Milton (Oakville, Campbellville, Missisauga, Burlington, Brookville).

  - Transit on Sundays (Doesn't have to be as frequent).

  - Mobile app with live bus timing, reroutes and cancellations. 

  - Better connections to high schools (more school special times and locations)

  - More bus routes to further popular places in Milton (e.g., Mattamy Cycling Center, Glen Eden/ Kelso, Toronto Premium Outlets)

  During exam time, once the exams end around 10 AM, the school buses don’t run until the normal dismissal time, around 3 PM. The same could be said for exam review day. If the school buses cannot be moved to run earlier, it may be an intelligent idea to run all of the Milton Transit school bus services earlier on these days to help support students.

  You cannot buy a ticket or get change for Milton Transit at the Go Station.

  That is supposed to be a transportation hub?

  Give the Milton Transit drivers access to the washrooms at the Go station. That will keep a warm bus at the Go station for passengers to sit in while the driver gets to use the washroom. The drivers have to take a 40 foot bus over to the gas bar at Thomson and block a lane to get access to a restroom and drive around the whole block to come back to the Go station and be...   In addition to a unified payment system for the region, it would be great to connect Milton with other regional systems (not just through Go but through local transit options) to allow people to get to different places (movie theatres, malls, different Go station options, hospitals etc.). Would make Milton less isolated and more integrated with the wider region.  Thinking of TransLink in Vancouver - everything is integrated and you can get almost anywhere.

  It would be good to have buses which orbit the town clockwise and counterclockwise: 

  An inner loop: LSL, Thompson, Main, Bronte 

  An outer loop: Britannia, Tremaine, Steeles, Trafalgar

  Then have connections from points on that route to the Go station, various other hubs (e.g. Main Library, Sports Centre, the Mall (if it ever comes back to life). This would help people get to work (hospital, the outlet mall, new businesses around town) and help the high school students to and from their various schools/programs/activities.

  I have several suggestions. See below. Also see my comments in response to posts under “Buses for Each GO Train”, “No Bus Route from Farmstead to high school (Craig Kielburger)”. 

  1. Route Review / Capacity Planning

  Review of routes (and stops) should be done at least once in 2 years. Population distribution and demographics rapidly change, especially in growing “towns” like Milton. Capacity planning and optimal resource utilization should be flexibly in-line with such periodic reviews. Analysis and decisions must be "data driven".

  2. Cashless Payment Options

  Requiring exact change, especially in this day & age, is annoying and off-putting. Offer other options, such as Presto, visa / debit cards, prepaid Milton Transit cards, and payment “apps” thru smart phones. Besides ongoing convenience (and increased ridership), at least some of these options can also provide ongoing operating cost savings.

  3. Customer Service / Experience

  A) Provide riders with easy ways to “rate” their experience on any given day, together with brief comments (if any).

  B) Provide convenient and effective ways to lodge complaints – by phone, email, website, mobile app; AND, transparently demonstrate action taken (to show responsiveness and customer care).

  C) Provide real time information – at bus stops and through mobile apps. Note: Not all people (and age groups) use mobile apps.

  D) Provide bus “shelters” (even if not all are heated during winters) at as many bus stops as possible

  E) Ensure bus shelter signs are more clear & visible

  4. Connectivity

  Besides GO station, we need adequate public transit connectivity to ALL of Milton’s schools (and community colleges / university campuses), hospital(s), libraries, parks, recreational facilities (Leisure Centre, Sports Centre, Velodrome etc.), downtown, shopping places (E.g.: Milton Mall, grocery shops)

  5. Integration with GO, Halton Region, Other Regions

  Need meaningful integration with GO transit (buses / trains) and any new regional transit for Halton. At the end of the day, people need an efficient and affordable public transit option to get places within Milton, places in Halton (E.g.: Oakville, Burlington, Halton Hills), and others (E.g.: Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto).

  6. Partnerships with Ride-Sharing Companies (Uber, Lyft etc.)

  Morning GO trains depart every 15 minutes but buses are scheduled every 30 minutes which means that bus commuters have access to limited number of trains. Please run buses for all GO trains. 

  Secondly as already mentioned, integration with Presto card is of importance, real time bus arrival, heated bus stops will all help attract more commuters and will increase revenue for Milton Transit.

  Hello,

  I noticed all buses go to Milton GO station, there is no buses help kids go to high schools.

  I live at Farmstead & Louis Saint Laurent. My daughter is going to high school next year to Craig Kielburger Secondary School. 

  The reason for this is Craig Kielburger is the only school offers IB program in Milton that my daughter will go, not my home high school Milton District High School.

  Because of this, my daughter won't able to come back home by taking Milton Bus after school.

  Could you please add this consideration for your future bus planning?

  Install presto card reader on buses. Carrying 75 cents change for go transfer is very inconvenient.

  All bus shelters at milton go station should be heated and have doors that can be closed. The existing heated shelter at milton go bus stop at go station does not provide heat at all because there are no doors.

  Real time info of bus location via app.

  Transit app with schedules
