Short-term rentals (for example, Airbnb) have become a fast growing industry in the last few years. Over the last year, the Town of Milton has seen a rise in the number of short-term rentals operating within the community. The Town is currently undergoing a short-term rentals study to explore options and determine how to regulate short-term rentals.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the online survey. We have analyzed your feedback and are going to Council on Feb. 7, 2022 with a directions report, recommending an approach to move forward with the development of policies to regulate short-term rentals in Milton.
Short-term rentals are considered a type of accommodation where an individual rents a residence, or a portion of a residence, for a short period of time, generally through internet platforms such as Airbnb, VRBO and HomeAway.
