The Town of Milton is seeking public input before developing a new Nuisance By-law that aims to foster the quality of life in our neighbourhoods.

The Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25 permits the Town to prohibit and regulate certain public nuisances respecting the economic, social and environmental well-being of the community, and the health, safety and the protection of persons and property.

Milton's by-law will aim to minimize neighbourhood disturbances and regulate/prohibit activities that may reasonably prevent you or your neighbours from enjoying your own properties.

Why public input matters

Public input is valued so that the by-law addresses issues of concern in our community, sets fines appropriately and is effective in preserving the quality of life in the Town of Milton.

The results of the survey will be used to inform an updated by-law for Council’s review and approval in March. If approved, the by-law is expected to be enacted in spring 2024.
