The Town of Milton is developing a Fire Master Plan (FMP) and Community Risk Assessment (C.R.A.). The FMP is a strategic document that will guide Council for the next ten years in providing effective and efficient fire protection and emergency services in Milton as the Town continues to grow. The FMP will be informed by the C.R.A., legislation, industry best practices, Milton Fire Department personnel and community input.
The FMP will focus on the following areas:
Public education and prevention
Fire safety standards and Code enforcement
Emergency response
The Town of Milton is developing a Fire Master Plan (FMP) and Community Risk Assessment (C.R.A.). The FMP is a strategic document that will guide Council for the next ten years in providing effective and efficient fire protection and emergency services in Milton as the Town continues to grow. The FMP will be informed by the C.R.A., legislation, industry best practices, Milton Fire Department personnel and community input.
The Fire Master Plan provides Council and senior staff with a strategic planning framework to deliver fire protection services over the next 10 years, as Milton is expected to reach a population of 219,900 by 2031. The Fire Master Plan also includes a Community Risk Assessment (C.R.A) which paints a picture about local needs and circumstances and is used to inform decision making including establishing service levels for the fire department.
